James Willie

James Willie III ( Born November 21,1980 ), better known by his stage name J-Will, is an neo-soul rap and pop artist, songwriter, producer, poet,  and former basketball player of Dunbar High School in Fort Worth, Texas. He was also a guest DJ on 96,1 Jamz in Tallahassee, Florida on Freestyle Friday with J-Blaze.  Before that, he was a DJ and On-Air Personality for WANM-FM 90.5 The Flava at Florida A&M University where he entertained for four years. He had a interview with Ray-J.  Even as a DJ he spent lots of time songwriting and performing at open mics. He tied for first place in a poetry slam at a show called Black On Black Rhyme.  At the age of 4, he tied for first place in a hip hop beat boxing contest near Downtown Fort Worth, Texas at an event with DJ Disco Don. His dad was a musician at his childhood church playing the conga drums and could play many instruments. He enrolled J-Will in drum lessons, piano lessons and finally violin lessons when he turned 8. He had the desire to be a star the first day out of his mother's womb.  J-Will has performed at the B.E.T. He started out beat boxing at the age of four at local contests. After being inspired by the rhyme, he started rapping at age eight. His lyricism stems from experiences, faith and humanitarian aspirations. Not only is he an award-winning poet, but a performer who has created a buzz across America, and worldwide.​

Right now, he is finishing up his first debut demo album, collaborating with producers from France, New York Minnesota, Arizona and Alabama. The several studios include Dauphin Street Sounds in Alabama, Session Works in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex, performing at the Scat Jazz Lounge in Fort Worth, Texas, Mt. Zion Calypso Cafe in Florida, and busking in North Dakota, and he has recorded in Las Vegas, Montana and Hollywood.

Divinely inspired, his church is Union Church of Los Angeles. Their membership includes people of all genders, backgrounds, ethnicities, etc... They worship God and we study every word in the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelations.
